THE NUMBERS TELL A STORY

In Australia, one in three men have experienced suicidal thoughts. Yet only a quarter of men say they would seek help from a mental health professional when struggling.

For those who have served, the situation is more acute. Male serving ADF members in combat and security roles are twice as likely to die by suicide as employed Australian males. Ex-serving male veterans are 26% more likely to die by suicide than the general male population.

First responders face similar challenges. Police, firefighters, and paramedics experience higher rates of PTSD, depression, anxiety, and suicidal ideation than the general population.

These aren’t just statistics. They’re mates, fathers, partners, and brothers who deserve better support.
